HISTORY: AEROVIAS ECUATORIANAS C.A. (AREA) was an Ecuadorian airline. In 1949 the shareholders of companies ATECA and Transandina Ecuatoriana were agreed to merge and create Aerovias Ecuatorianas C.A. AREA. The company was under the command of Captain Luis Arias and began the consolidation as the most important company in the Ecuadorian market.
